Davy Cunningham

Davy Cunningham was born in Scotland and studied philosophy at Stirling University. He has worked extensively in both theatre and opera and has lit over 150 opera productions world-wide.

Druid: The Playboy of the Western World (Ireland and Perth), The Well of the Saints, The Tinker’s Wedding, Sive.

Other Theatre: Ivanov, Much Ado about Nothing and Nicol Williamson’s one man show Jack (London West End); The Taming of The Shrew (RSC); The Miser (National Theatre) and five productions at the Old Vic. The House of Bernarda Alba, Big Maggie (Abbey, Dublin); Lady Windermere’s Fan and The Importance of Being Earnest (Gate, Dublin); Othello and five Christmas productions (Royal Lyceum Edinburgh); As You Like It (Nottingham Playhouse) and Julius Cæsar (Birmingham Rep); Blue/Orange (Scottish tour 2005).

His lighting has been seen in every mayor European opera company from London to St. Petersburg.
