Druid is deeply saddened by the passing of Monica Frawley

Druid is mourning the death of Monica Frawley, a distinguished set and costume designer who passed away on Friday after a year long illness.

Monica worked on many Druid productions including designs for Same Old Moon, The Midnight Court and On Raftery's Hill. In particular her designs for Maeliosa Stafford’s production At the Black Pigs Dyke are celebrated as marking a standard in Irish theatre design. Monica later married the writer of that play Vincent Woods and she is survived by him and by her extended family.

Garry Hynes, Druid's Artistic Director said "Monica was an outstanding artist and a great friend. Druid was lucky to have her work with us and we will miss her humour, her intelligence and her sparkling talent."

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
