Tuesday 31 May 2022

We're delighted to announce that three films from the Coole Park Poetry Series 2021 will screen at Bloomsday Film Festival 2022, part of Bloomsday Festival.

The Bloomsday Film Festival, now in its third year, seeks to celebrate cinema, literature, and artistic innovation as part of the broader Festival, inspired by the legacy of the avant-garde, future-facing Joyce.

Austin Clarke's ‘The Echo at Coole’, read by Tommy Tiernan and directed by Matthew Thompson, will screen as part of the Poetry Shorts programme at the James Joyce Centre, Dublin on 13 June, and then online 16-23 June.

Screening online only (16-23 June) will be Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin's 'The Architectural Metaphor', read by Venetia Bowe and directed Matthew Thompson, and Paula Meehan's 'This is not a confessional poem', read by Clare Dunne and directed by Matthew Thompson.

The Coole Park Poetry Series is produced by Druid and the Adrian Brinkerhoff Poetry Foundation, and consists of two editions, 2020 and 2021.

Visit Bloomsday Film Festival for more information on these upcoming screenings.
