Here's all you need to know about The Seagull live at Coole Park.

In Person Tickets

Previews: 6 - 9 August
Performances: 10 - 14, 19 - 21 August

Performance times: 2pm and 8pm
Running time: 3 hours plus an interval

Standard tickets: €30

Due to government guidelines, tickets are extremely limited for The Seagull. If restrictions ease, we will endeavour to increase capacity.

Tickets will be sold in pods of singles, pairs or groups of four. Strict social distancing will be in place between pods, as per government guidelines.

Once the auditorium opens, our team will safely seat you in your pod. This process will begin 30 minutes prior to each performance.

If you cannot attend due to COVID-19, we will look to make an alternative arrangement for you or refund the full cost of your ticket.

Early Bird tickets are on sale now, until Sunday 22 August.

With an on demand ticket, you can watch The Seagull online in your own time between Sunday 5 and Sunday 12 September.

Venue and Location

The Seagull will be performed entirely outdoors at Coole Park, County Galway, once home to Lady Augusta Gregory.

By car, Coole Park is approximately 45 minutes from Galway city and a short drive from the M6 and M18 motorways. There is ample free parking on site.

The outdoor auditorium will comprise of rows of seating pods on the flat and some on a raked seating bank. The audience will be fully seated throughout the performance on fold-out chairs.


Accessibility

The performance on Thursday 19 August at 8pm will feature Irish Sign Language interpretation by Amanda Coogan. To book tickets for this performance, please email boxoffice@druid.ie. While The Seagull is currently sold out, there is a dedicated allocation of tickets for this ISL performance. These tickets are sold in pods of 2.

Hearing loops will also be available throughout the run at Coole Park.

Captions will be available for the on demand film from Friday 10 September. Captions can be turned on and off when viewing The Seagull online.

The venue is located a short walk from the main car park. While some areas of Coole Park are uneven underfoot, the venue is fully accessible.

Accessible toilets are available next to the performance area and will be open throughout the event.

Your Comfort and Enjoyment

The performance will take place outside, unsheltered. Please dress appropriately – we recommend warm clothing and suitable footwear. You may also like to bring a blanket for your legs or a cushion to aid comfort.

Seating pods in the auditorium are unreserved so we encourage you to arrive in plenty of time to be allocated your pod.

Please note that no food or drink may be consumed during the performance. Umbrellas are not permitted in the outdoor auditorium.


Your Safety

Your safety is our utmost concern. We are taking every measure necessary to ensure that your time with us at Coole Park will be safe and enjoyable.

These safety measures include:

  • Significantly reduced capacity in line with government guidelines
  • Contactless ticketing
  • One-way systems
  • COVID-19 safety signage
  • Hand-sanitiser dispensers
  • Wearing of face coverings by all Druid administration and technical staff
  • Audience members are expected to wear a face covering when moving about the site for your comfort and the comfort of others, but are welcome to remove face coverings when safely seated in your allocated pod
  • Contact tracing

If you are feeling unwell or displaying symptoms, please remain at home and self-isolate. In this case, our box office can make an alternative arrangement for you or refund the full cost of your ticket.
