Galway's favourite soprano Helen Hancock and her string quartet have branded themselves The Triskel Ensemble following their hugely successful sold-out concerts in Brazco, Oranmore this summer.
They cannot wait to perform a fabulous programme full of nostalgia with music from E.T., Home Alone and songs from The Sound of Music, Les Miserables and Evita.
The Corelli Christmas Pastorale, arias from Messiah and a touch of Mozart will soothe your soul in the candlelit atmosphere alongside favourites like A Christmas Song, Walking in the Air, O Holy Night and some of your favourite carols.
Helen in her usual chatty style will create an intimate and warm atmosphere leaving you full of Christmas cheer.
The Triskel Ensemble represents the three countries of the members of the ensemble – José Scolaro (violin) from Venezuala, Eszter Cetinceviz (cello) from Hungary, Thomas Murphy (violin) and Seán Hancock (viola) from Ireland. The ensemble welcomes Erica Li (violin), replacing Thomas Murphy in this performance.
Helen’s album TOGETHERENESS with German pianist Paul Cibis was recently released on Navona Records and you can find links to listen to it on all the streaming platforms.
Helen has had a busy summer of performances, from the 60th Anniversary Gala Concert at the Yeats Tower, Thoor Ballylee, a packed salon concert in Claregalway Castle, concerts in Brazco, Oranmore with The Triskel Ensemble and an opera – Lady Gregory in America at the Yeats-Gregory Autumn Gathering in Gort. Helen and José Scolaro have also been busy performing together recently in Limerick at St Mary’s Cathedral and St Nicholas Galway.
