Two artists, different expressions. Same fire burning underneath.
Growler and Áine Tyrrell have admired each other's work from afar for years, trading wisdoms and encouragement from the hedges. Rumblings of difficult Irish women, echoing from every corner of the world. Both daughters of the Caillieach, who emigrated to find their strength of voice, now return, iconically to unite in Galway for a Samhain special.
These two forces were always going to find each other. Born on different coasts of Ireland, scattered to different hemispheres, still the Cailleach kept a thread between them. And of course she made sure their first performance together was going to be mythical, and Samhain is the only fitting hour for it. When the veil is thinnest, and the wise women, the hags, the banshees and the wild ones walk closest to us.
Two fierce voices in Irish performance, called together for one night. Come be part of this ignition. Join their Samhain circle, song and performance art, side by side.
Expect ancestral voices, Irish feminine reclaimed, vulnerability and strength in the same breath. Expect the unexpected from these two mná, in a collaboration that invites ye around the fire at this threshold, together.
