Following their successful run in Oranmore, Bualadh Bos present John B Keane’s Sive in The Mick Lally Theatre.
This is one of the great Irish quintessential classic dramas. The story is set in rural Ireland some time in the fifties. This was a time of great economic poverty, misery and deprivation in Ireland.
Sive deals with young love, marriage, family structures and rural life in Ireland of that time.
This is also a great opportunity for Galway Leaving Cert students to avail of as Sive is currently on the Leaving Cert English syllabus.
Bualadh Bos Drama Group has developed a growing audience in Oranmore and surrounding areas. They produce both one-act plays and a full-length play every year. They have moved beyond their village this past year, by performing at Galway Fringe Festival, Gort and Balla among other venues. They received very positive adjudication in the DLI One Act Festival Circuit earlier this year with Adrift.
They select their plays carefully to suit their audience base. They always offer some traditional favourites as well as new material which their audiences might not have been previously exposed to.
Bualadh Bos presents Sive, directed by Iggy Bownes.
