We encourage you to consider public and active forms of transport when visiting our theatre.

Public transport

Galway city centre is served by a number of bus routes. Find out more about public transport options on Transport for Ireland website or on Visit Galway website.

Active transport

Galway is a compact city so walking and cycling to The Mick Lally Theatre are also possible. You can also rent bicycles with Bikeshare.

Private transport

If travelling by car, there are many parking options nearby:

  • Jury’s car park in Spanish Arch
  • McDonagh’s car park on Merchant’s Road
  • Secure parking on Galway Docks

There is also limited on-street parking on Flood Street, Middle Street, Cross Street and Merchant’s Road which is free after 6:30pm

The Mick Lally Theatre on Druid Lane is accessible by wheelchair users and those in need of assistance for all events on the ground floor, where our auditorium, bar and foyer are based. Events held in our rehearsal room on the first floor are only accessible by stairs.

For loading in equipment, the venue is accessible via a main door on Druid Lane. The lane is pedestrianised and there is a loading bay at the end of the lane, on Flood Street.

Technical Details.

We adhere to all safety measures based on current Government guidelines.

  • Our ventilation system feeds fresh air into the auditorium.
  • There are multiple hand-sanitising stations at the venue.
  • While it is no longer mandatory to wear a face covering while at the theatre, we encourage patrons to do so.
  • We operate as a ticketless venue.
